he Polsky Building Window project was my favorite of all while I was a part of Designx9 of Myers School of Art at the University of Akron. The project involved a total of 22 – 8×10 foot windows right in the middle of town on Main Street.
The Polsky Building Window Project allowed me to achieve 2 Addys. The first Addy was a Local Silver, the second a District Gold.
I worked on the Polsky Project all of the 2009 summer. Putting an approximate total of 100 hours into the Approved Final Pieces. I delivered the finished files to the printers and even watched them be installed. More than just a project, I feel it was a key time in my growth as a designer. Something I will never forget.
I especially like how the very colorful angular forms feel against the stark gray Art Deco building design. In the Channel 3 TV interview I was featured in after the Main Street install I called it a broken or shattered glass effect. But looking back I really designed the patterns after the energy I saw in each image.
